Website speed optimization built for WordPress and Core Web Vitals

A structured analysis and targeted, system-level work on an existing WordPress site: images, code, caching, the database, the server, and the CDN in front of it. Speed is a technical requirement for search visibility and conversion.

What we optimize

A structured audit finds what is slowing a WordPress site down. These are the areas we work on, prioritized by what the audit finds.

Core Web Vitals

Rendering speed, layout stability, and interactive responsiveness, the performance metrics both search engines and visitors judge a page by.

Image and media optimization

Compression, modern image formats, responsive scaling, and lazy loading, so large media files stop slowing pages down.

Code and script optimization

We remove or defer unused CSS and render-blocking JavaScript and review plugin bloat, so the browser has less to process before it shows the page.

Caching configuration

Page, object, and browser caching configured so repeat visits, and the server behind them, do less work.

Database optimization

Cleaning out orphaned records, expired transients, and unnecessary revisions makes queries faster and cuts processing time.

Server, hosting and CDN

We review the PHP version and server configuration, and set up a content delivery network when it helps, serving static assets from the edge server closest to each visitor.

When speed work is worth it

A structured optimization pass is worth commissioning when the site already shows the signs, and it is a narrower engagement than a full maintenance retainer.

It makes sense for you if

  • Core Web Vitals scores are low or page load time is high
  • Bounce rates are high or conversion is underperforming
  • Traffic spikes cause instability, or hosting costs keep rising
  • Mobile visitors are the majority and mobile load feels slow

You need a different service if

  • You don't have a site yet, so start with WordPress Development
  • You want ongoing updates, security, and backups too, so see WordPress Maintenance
  • The site needs a redesign as well as faster loading, so see Web Design

Why speed matters

Search visibility

Core Web Vitals are part of how search engines rank a page, so a faster site has a technical advantage in search as well as a better user experience.

Conversion and engagement

Page speed directly affects bounce rate and session duration. A visitor who waits less is more likely to stay, browse, and convert.

Stability under load

A CDN and caching keep a site steady during a traffic spike, a marketing campaign, or a seasonal surge, and spare the origin server the strain.

How it runs

Three steps, from the first audit to a measurable result.

Three steps, from the first audit to a measurable result on the same site.

  1. Structured audit

We analyze Core Web Vitals, assets, code, caching, the database, and the hosting environment, and tell you what is slowing the site down.

  2. Prioritized changes

We implement the changes the audit found, in the order that moves Core Web Vitals the most, each one tested before it reaches production.

  3. Ongoing monitoring

We keep measuring after the changes ship. A site under a maintenance retainer carries this monitoring forward every month.

Speed sits next to hosting and maintenance

A one-off optimization pass fixes what is slowing the site down today. Hosting and an ongoing maintenance retainer are the two services that keep it fast afterward.

Frequently asked questions

What are Core Web Vitals?

Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, and Interaction to Next Paint. These are the three performance metrics search engines use to judge a page's loading speed, visual stability, and responsiveness.

Do I need a full maintenance retainer to get this?

No. A structured optimization pass is a standalone engagement on a site that already exists. A maintenance retainer adds ongoing updates, security, and monitoring on top of it, month to month.

Is this the same as hosting?

No. Hosting is the server the site runs on. Optimization is the work done on the site and its configuration, including how it uses a CDN in front of that server. We offer both, and they work well together.

Do you use a CDN?

When it helps. A content delivery network serves static assets from the edge server closest to each visitor, which reduces latency for international traffic and absorbs sudden spikes. We configure it as part of the audit when the site benefits from it.

Do you work with clients outside Portugal?

Yes. Our clients are all over the world, most often in the US, Europe, and the UK. We work remotely with the same process, from offices in London, Lisbon and Funchal, in English and Portuguese.

What happens after the optimization pass?

We tell you what changed and what to watch. If you want it kept that way every month, that is what the maintenance retainer is for.

Fixing a slow site starts with a conversation.
