A growing Emergency Medicine platform outgrew Squarespace and needed a system that could carry its whole library.

The client

EM Board Bombs is a leading Emergency Medicine board review platform, founded by Dr. Blake Briggs and Dr. Iltifat Husain. Its podcasts, study guides, and premium question bank serve Emergency Medicine residents, practicing physicians, and medical students. It was originally built on Squarespace, until its content and audience outgrew that platform.

The challenge

Squarespace could not keep up. Managing more than 100 study guides and 140-plus podcast episodes was slow, the generic design didn't reflect the brand, and there was no smooth path to ads, email, or social integration. Migrating everything without losing data or search rankings raised the stakes.

What EM Board Bombs needed, and what we built

The need

What we built

Rebuild on a CMS that could scale with a growing library.

A custom WordPress platform with dedicated post types for podcasts and study guides.

Make podcasts and study guides easier to find.

A new information architecture and a clean, modern interface built for content discovery, including cross-recommendations.

Move over 240 pieces of content without losing data or search rankings.

A full migration of every podcast, study guide, and question-bank entry, with metadata, attachments, and SEO redirects preserved.

Give the team simpler, day-to-day publishing tools.

Streamlined content management workflows for uploading and organizing audio, guides, and metadata.

How we worked

  1. Planning the migration

We worked with the EM Board Bombs team to identify their challenges, then planned a move from Squarespace to WordPress for scalability, flexibility, and performance.

  2. Redesigning for discovery

We built a new information architecture and a clean, modern interface around podcasts and study guides, so browsing and finding content is easier.

  3. Migrating and launching

We built custom post types, migrated more than 240 pieces of content with full metadata and attachments, added SEO redirects and marketing integrations, then launched on a high-performance VPS with full team training.

The result

Emergency Medicine learners can now search, filter, and discover podcasts and study guides in a system that grows with the library.

Streamlined workflows saved the team significant time uploading and organizing material, marketing integrations expanded outreach and audience insight, and user feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

What the site does

  • Organizes 240+ podcasts and study guides with search and filtering
  • Cross-recommends related podcasts and study guides
  • Streamlines content upload for the internal team
  • Preserves SEO value through the Squarespace migration
