About Lokoloko
Lokoloko Madeira is an outdoor adventure company based in Madeira, Portugal, specializing in a wide variety of land, water, and air activities. Their experiences include canyoning, mountain biking, hiking, jeep safaris, tuk-tuk and minibus tours, enduro dirt biking, climbing, sunrise tours, paintball, tasting tours, and trike tours.
For water enthusiasts, Lokoloko provides coasteering, kayaking and snorkeling, jetski rides, boat tours, scuba diving, freediving, windsurfing, surfing, and bodyboarding. In the air, guests can experience paragliding and parasailing.
The company is known for its expert local guides, customizable adventures, and a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Project goals
- Migrate all the existent tour directory to the new website
- Create a new original design better aligned with the business spirit and structured to improve search engine indexing
- Build a tour directory that showcases all activities with the ability to request a booking integrated with the new online booking software for tours and activities
- Integrate a channel management system to allow direct online bookings
Our approach
Lokoloko’s previous website, built on Joomla, featured only a basic tour listing. We began by collecting all available tour content to define a flexible structure that could be reused across the site.
The challenge came from the diversity of experiences that Lokoloko offers. We had to create a design that could adapt to both simple tours with one option, to multiple tours with advanced description and direct booking enabled.
We created a high-fidelity mockup that accounted for different tour formats and layouts. After reviewing the design with the client and incorporating their feedback, we moved into implementation to keep our record of all deliveries on time.
Once the structure was in place, we handled the data revision and import for all tour content and images, ensuring consistency and quality throughout.
The website was then launched and refined iteratively until the desired end result was achieved.
Outcome
The new Lokoloko website delivers a dynamic and easy-to-navigate experience, allowing users to explore the full range of land, water, and air activities in one place. Visitors can now view tour details and request or complete bookings efficiently.
With a modern design, improved content structure, and a streamlined booking process, the platform has helped boost engagement and confirmed Lokoloko’s position as one of Madeira’s top adventure tourism providers.
